Vertical Feed Mixers
Herd-Boss’s heavy duty vertical mixers are an essential piece of equipment for feeding livestock and other farm animals. The design of the mixing tub, particularly the choice between sloped wall tubs and straight wall tubs, significantly impacts the efficiency, effectiveness, and suitability of the mixer for specific applications.
The V-Series mixer has tub walls that have no angle or slope. This creates more pressure to force the feed to move downward and around the mixer, so it doesn’t get stagnant. This design allows for lower loading height and door clearance.
The S-Series mixer has angled tub walls that promote a natural tumbling action that enhances the mixing process. This design facilitates a more uniform mix in less processing time compared to straight wall models.
Horizontal Feed Mixers
Herd-Boss manufacturers a wide range of horizontal feed mixers in two styles:
Horizontal mixers have a horizontal layout with a single or double auger mechanism for mixing ingredients along the length of the mixer, ensuring thorough blending.
These mixers can incorporate premixes with lower inclusion rates, enhancing flexibility in mixing formulations making them suitable for a wide range of feed formulations.
Silage Baggers & Grain Baggers

Versatile and flexible, the Roto-Press bags anything from silage to by-products to simultaneously bagging and cracking shell corn when a roller mill is added.
